Our daughter Lizzie was diagnosed with bilateral grade 5 Vesicoureteral Reflux (Kidney Reflux) when she was just 6 weeks old. At the time we had never even heard of this condition, and had no idea what to expect from her diagnosis. As time went on we realized that Lizzie had some rare complications which meant we were going to have to make decisions much earlier than we first expected.
I quickly realized that I needed to be able to talk to our doctors and make informed decisions about my daughters care. To do that I had to understand what it all meant. That often turned out to be much easier said than done. I could go online and find out what any given celebrity had for breakfast, but I couldn’t find the medical information that I desperately needed to understand my child’s condition. When I did find information, I couldn’t understand it.
Over the years I’ve spent a lot of time researching and learning everything I can about kidney reflux. I decided to compile all of the information I had gathered over the years and put it into one place, and that place became KidneyReflux.info. My hope is to provide a central place where parents can come to find information about kidney reflux. Information that is easy to read and easy to understand. I’ve done my best to provide accurate information and link to my resources and studies whenever possible.
